This is of course Erin's Senior year and once again we had awesome weather for our Homecoming. Erin was 1st attendent in the Homecoming court along with Trevor Johnson whose family just moved here from Nebraska a year ago so it was really fun to see the two "Huskers" get to be in the Homecoming court together! Here they are riding in the parade...

This is a new group at the high school that Erin and Ethan are involved in called "Pure Performance". If you look in the lower left you will see a poster that says 212. That is Erin on the poster. I will try to get a better picture posted later...

Ethan Football

Ethan has had quite the termultuous year at football. He started the year out at fullback with an option of being the JV quarterback and a backup varsity QB. On a pre-season scrimmage our main quarterback and Ethan both went down with knee injuries. He was out for the first three weeks of the season but managed to make his way back. Through another series of drama on the football team - he ended up being the starting varsity quarterback. A little nerve racking for a kid who really just wants to work on sacking the opposing team quarterback!

We were very proud of him as he stepped up and worked really hard at trying to do the job better each game. They didn't have a winning season but did win one big game as they beat Big Piney with Ethan playing quarterback and running in the final touchdown.

Yes - he is taller then his two older brothers - He is now just a hair over 6 foot!

Wow - I know it has been over a year since I have posted but I am really going to try to get some things on here. Erin is a senior this year so thought I had better keep everyone posted on what's happening.... SO I am going to start with this weekend and throw in touches of what's happened the last year and a half.... The Pinedale Wrangler girls are headed to state - I am so proud of these girls - they work so hard and really had to work to get this done. We have an awesome group of coaches who have totally believed in these girls from the get go. Thank you

Ethan went out for track this spring and has done very well at the meets he's went to. Unfortuneatly the last two have been cancelled. He runs the 100 yard dash, 4X1 relay and he was high jumping until his back started hurting and so now he is throwing.

I have really enjoyed messing with my camera and all the sports shots. I have found I enjoy the outside pictures more because I don't have to deal with the lighting like they have in the gyms and such.

Michael and Teann's kids have taken up ice skating since they moved out here so we got to attend one of their ice shows a few weeks ago. This is Riley in one of her perfomances. She is such a cutie!!

Grandma turns 70!

Kenny's mom was blessed to be able to celebrate her 70th birthday on March 7th of this year. All five of her children and their spouses and most of the grandchildren were able to be there to help her celebrate!

Wow what an honor! Little Kodie Egle had career day at school and she chose me to interview. I was so excited. She asked me all kinds of questions about my job and then I got to go to her classroom one day and be interviewed by her classmates. I was very impressed by their questions and knowledge of the economy, and what income, expenses, profit, wages all were. But at the end of the day Kodie decided she didn't want to be a bookkepper but would rather be a hair dresser like her mom. I told her that was an awesome career choice too and that her mom was a very talented woman!

Ethan was a slow starter in the basketball court this year but he finally ended up going out.

He did really well and I think he even enjoyed it a little....
We had a similar experience in wrestling. His football coach finally made some type of deal with him just to get him to try it. He liked it and did really, really, well. The question at the wrestling meets is always "how long has he been wrestling and everyone was always quite surprised when we said - "3 weeks". He only lost 3-4 matches all season and won most of his matches by pins.

So very cool....

Grandpa and Grandma Egle came out for Christmasthis year. We had such a nice relaxing time. The guys

headed to Riverton ice fishing for a couple of days and the gals went to Jackson for lunch and shopping.

Thought I had better do a quick catch up of winter - now that spring is here!
Or at least for some of you. We stayed in Wyoming for the holidays this year and Michael and TeAnn and crew did as well. Here we all are about to partake in Thanksgiving dinner.

The wildlife is truly one of the great highlights of the mountains. This little guy, although quite nice looking, is not a friend - he keeps eating on our trees which are like trying to grow gold here!

Kenny and I actually got to take a Saturday this fall and drive over Union Pass to see the colors. These pictures really do no reflect the beauty we saw.

In one area we went through by the Green River Lakes road there were people gathering sheep. I have them on Ethan's camera so hopefully I can get them posted when he's awake to show me a couple of things - this was a little further down the road..

Another Month Gone

I can not believe almost two months have passed since I have been able to share on here! Everyone keeps telling me how much quieter and less busy my life must be with Luke and Zach gone. HA - is all I have to say to that. With Ethan in middle school football and Erin in Varsity Volleyball nothing is quieter or less busy I can assure you. I think I drove the road from Pinedale to Kemmerer at least once a week for 6 weeks (2 hours one way) - either to a volleyball tournament or a football game. Alas fall sports are over and we had a great fall. Ethan was so excited to play football this year and he really showed his enthusiasm on the field. In the one game against Star Valley we won the game 34 - 0 and Ethan had scored 32 of the points - quite a highlight for him. The last game of the season they played Rich County and beat them 40 something to 6 and the highlight of that game was getting to play on the new turf on the high school field. Those bright orange end zones must have really attracted those boys!! Luke was able to make it home for Homecoming and was so jealous to see the new field and the lights. The coach invited him down on the sidelines so he had a lot of fun doing that. We really enjoyed having him "home" - even though he wasn't really here that often.

Erin was the starting middle hitter on the Varsity Volleyball team this year. She had a great season this year as she led the team in kills. The biggest highlight for her team was that they made it to the Wyoming State Volleyball Tournament. I believe it's been about 10 years since that has happened. They were beat in the first game by Wheatland - this year's champions and then again by Glenrock. We are truly excited to watch her team in the future as there were only 3 seniors on the team this year and the rest were sophomores. Way to go Lady Wranglers!!

We have about a month reprieve before Erin starts her basketball schedule and so Kenny and Ethan have plans to meet with my brother Rick and Luke and Zach in Eastern Wyoming to do some pheasant hunting. Erin and I have a shopping date to Idaho Falls and I think she's going to a Christian Concert next weekend. Ethan didn't want to play basketball as he is "saving himself" for the ski season. It sounds like everyone around us is getting tons of snow and we haven't hardly had any yet! Needless to say he is not very happy about that.

Well I'll try to get some pictures in here and hopefully I will get my new camera ordered this week!

Kenny and I have been so blessed with awesome examples of great marriages. My mom and dad were married over 60 years and now Kenny's mom and dad have been married 50 years as of September 1, 2009. Happy Anniversary Loren and Pat and may God bless you with many, many more happy years together.

The Celebration

Wow - what an event - 50 years. Kenny's mom and dad decided to celebrate 50 years of marriage by having their family all meet in Keystone, CO for a week. So at the end of July we all packed our bags and met in Colorado. It was an absolutly perfect spot as we had a big house with a hot tub and a pool just down the hill - all right on the golf course. Relaxing, restfull and fun for everyone. We also had a big kitchen table for card playing!

Luke and Zach were so blessed to meet some great people while in Pinedale. Zach's basketball coach Mike Vickrey, talks his mom into making quilts for some of his basketball players when they graduate from high school. I'm not sure how the boys got on this list but they were sure glad to be the recipents of one of these quilts! This is Zach's.

We went up to see my dad for Easter and stopped by Chadron so Zach could do a college visit. Kenny just had to stop by Donald's and have a burger before we left town. This was a favorite when we were in Chadron at college - and they delivered! It was fun to go around the campus and see how some things have really changed and how some are still the same!

We got to spend the rest of the weekend with my sister Peg and her husband Bud. We went to see dad and then took him to mass Sunday morning and out for breakfast. He is doing amazingly well for 86. His mind is quite sharp and he was quite shocked at how much the kids have changed!

It was so awesome to get to see Ethan participate in his first sport event of his 7th grade year! He was so excited and did really well. He still deals with a little pain but hopefully with more work outs and strengthening exercises he will be 100% by next fall. In the meantime he's actually enjoying track!

Basketball Fun

Well basketball is finally done. Erin had a pretty good year as a Freshman. She started Varsity about 1/4 way through the season and learned a ton!! The highlights were still the Freshman games where she got to play with her classmates. They are a very unique and special bunch of girls and they were coached by a very loving, caring yet tough woman. They all truly love and respect her. We had a poster made for Coach McKinney which was very cool... Thanks Jennifer! They ended up 14-2 with a first and second place finishing at the two tournaments they went to...Good Job Girls!!

Erin turned 15 on the 27th of February...she wasn't overly thrilled because her birthday was on the same day they left for a Freshman basketball tournament in Worland. Her coach set up dinner for them in Lander and Kenny and I showed up with a cake and treat bags. Erin has an awesome bunch of classmates and coaches who helped her to feel very special and blessed! They also got 2nd out of 12 teams in the tournament the next day which was awesome!!

We are blessed to get to watch a little boy named Trace on Wednesday nights while his mom and dad give their service to the church body by serving as youth group leaders. Trace has become a great little friend to all of us and it is always a big rush at the door to see who gets in to see him first! A couple of weeks ago Trace's mom and dad went skiing for the weekend so we got to keep him for two and a half days. What a sweetheart!!

We haven't seen a lot of moose this winter but earlier this winter we had this nice buck hanging out done the road. Last month when Ethan and I were coming back from Jackson I got to see my first live bull moose - amazing creatures. A couple of days ago I came home and their were two bald eagles sitting by the fence by the house - awesome birds - unfortunately no camera!
It's about time to start looking for the sheds so the boys are mapping out where they are going to start looking..

Kenny vowed this winter that he was going to take some time off, spend time with the kids and enjoy the mountains. I have been so proud of him as they have went snow machining a bunch of times as well as ice fishing . A couple of weeks ago Luke and Jade left on a Thursday night and went to Laramie to Lake Hattie to go fishing. Zach had a game Friday night so Kenny, Zach and Michael left after the game and drove to Laramie to join them. They caught 160 fish all together and had a super great guys weekend! We didn't have school Monday so Zach's basketball coach took him out to his ranch coyote hunting and Zach got two coyotes. He said it was the best weekend of his life!

So since moving to Wyoming we always know the basketball season is a long and drawn out affair. I never want to hear you Nebraskans complain about "away" games. Our closest game is 35 miles, next closest is 80 miles, and it doubles in mileage from there. Erin has a great freshman group and so far they are undefeated. About 3 1/2 weeks ago I walked into the gym - late for her JV game- set my stuff down and looked up and there she sat. With our track record for injuries here lately I asked her what happened? She said I guess I'm starting Varsity. So she's been varsity since. They are still letting her play on Freshman which is awesome since that is where they are shining. She does a good job as the center for the varsity but the Freshman are really a fun group of girls to watch and they have a great coach!! Thanks Jennifer for all your hard work!!

Christmas at home

We were home for Christmas and it was a well needed rest! We had our traditional Christmas Eve party and then we woke up to lots of snow on Christmas morning. The Pape's graciously invited us out for Christmas dinner so we went out their where the kids went snow machining, dad rested and napped and mom played cards - what a great day!

I started out in September thinking I was going to do my own Senior pictures - then reality hit. We did go down to the park and take some and they turned out pretty good hence the one above. We did however end up hiring a professional. I think she did a little better job. Her name is Tara Bolgiano and she really did some cool things with the boy's football pictures.

Thanksgiving and a Husker Game

For Thanksgiving we decided to take a week off of work and head back to Nebraska. We got to have a wonderful week of visiting with family in friends in the Stratton, Wauneta, Palisade, Holdrege and Lincoln areas. What a great time to see everyone, rest and a renewing of spirit! Kenny's dad turned 70 in November so we all met in Lincoln to celebrate with him at a football game and Thanksgiving at Lori and Todd's. We were fortunate enough to run into my neices and after dinner Friday so we got so spend "a little" time with them as well!

The boys finally found some birds in Wyoming!! They had a great fall hunting for ducks and geese with their friends the Mering brothers. It was always a highlight of their week to end Friday with a football game and start Saturday duck hunting!

We were blessed last fall to have Kenny's folks come out and stay for a week. They got to see a couple of Erin's games and a couple of Luke and Zach's games. The weather was great and they also got to spend some time in the mountains fishing and site seeing. Luke took these pictures and I think he did a great job!

A Little Catchin' Up

I knew when I started this blog it would be a challenge for me to keep up but I didn't think it would be quite this bad! Let's see if I can take some time to get a few things caught up... October finished out with the boys beating their cross county rivals Big Piney for the first time in 9 years. It was an awesome day! They have a county trophy that stays at the winning school until the next year so it was a pretty big event for the school. We then finished the season off with a birth to the 3A Football playoffs - again 1st time in 9 years! We ended the regular season @ 5-3 which is the best record that they had had in - yes again - 9 years!! We were ranked 3rd in the state in 3A so our first game was at home against Lovell. It started out quite scary as at half time we were down 20-0 and we aren't really known as the type of school that "makes a comeback". I really don't mean to brag but those Egle boys came out and "lit it up". They were bound and determined to get the quarterback. By the end of the game they were on their third quarterback and we came back and won the game 28-23. On Sunday our pastor said he had lived in Pinedale for 23 years and that was the best football game he had ever seen Pinedale play. Needless to say we were quite proud of the team! We went on to play the state champs in Glenrock - wow were they impressive! Needless to say that ended our state title hopes. The year still ended on a great note as Luke and Zach both made All-Conference and Luke made it on the All-State Team. Luke also received the defensive player of the year award and the spirit award and they presented Zach with the game ball from the Lovell game since he played both sides of the ball the whole entire game.

Wow - I can not believe it's been a month since I have gotten anything posted! Football and volleyball games are keeping us busier then I thought. We had a really nice visit with Kenny's folks for about a week a couple of weeks ago and they got to do some site seeing and take in a couple of football games, volleyball games and even do some fishing. The weather was great while they were here and actually the whole month of September was beautiful.

We had Homecoming last week so it was a very full and busy week but a very fun one. We beat our cross county rivals Big Piney 27-0. That hasn't happened in 9 years! Since I didn't get a lot of pictures taken with my digital, I'll direct you to the local website which has a ton of great pictures on it! Well - here we go back to school! We had a little frost on the pumpkin this morning so I guess it was fitting that we head back. Two Seniors, a Freshman and a 7th Grader. Don't you wish you were me!!!

On the Way to Recovery

Well, here we are 12 days post surgery. He has a little hardware in there! We went for a checkup today and he is doing much better and somewhat back to the old Ethan. He will have to have all this out next Jan/Feb but he's hoping to be able to play soccer or run track in April. He went to football practice the other night and the coaches asked him to be the student manager so hopefully that will help him feel a little better.

This was his leg last Friday. The black bubbles are blisters and they had to pop them. He has another incision and staples on the other side of his leg as well.

MORE BROKEN BONES!

I guess every family has one and mine is going to be Ethan. Last Thursday night he wrecked the four wheeler and it rolled on top of him and he broke his tibia and fibula. He had surgery on Friday and we finally got home today! He has been in quite a bit of pain but I'm not sure if the physical or emotional pain is worse. He was supposed to start football next Monday and now he will miss the whole season plus probably the basketball season. Thankfully he had his helmet on and he had a cell phone so he could call us right away but nonetheless we let him ride by himself (mistake) and he's only 13 - should be 16 (mistake). Hopefully we all learned a lesson and hopefully he'll think a little more the next time - although he was wondering if he would be able to ski this year - that's a wait and see! Anyway, thank you to all who have been praying. We have to go back to Jackson Friday so maybe I can get some gorry pictures to post!

shopping and meet up with my sister Peggy while she was at a Stampin' Up!

the fair this year and each got on a

greased pig team. The team has to

enter a muddy pen and grab a pig

and put him in a barrel. It was quite

Trip to Nebraska

**GO HUSKERS!!**

Erin went to the Nebraska Huskers Volleyball camp this summer in June and so she, I and Ethan got to see some friends and family on our little jaunt across Wyoming and Nebraska. Here

she is at camp with her team. Needless to say it was "AWESOME"!

On the way to Lincoln we stopped in Holdredge to see our friends the Kaytons. The trip was just not long enough to get in enough visiting but we did get a little time to catch up. After dropping off Erin and her friend at the camp and Ethan at Aunt Lori's, I went over to Des Moines to see my sister Sherry. Here she is in front of her house. Iowa is beautiful right now!

When I got to Sherry's she had invited the boys over for supper so I got to see Nick, Rob and Amy and their three children, Logan, Lanee and Lindee.

We also got to spend the night with my neice Jaime and meet the newest adddition to the family - little Ava. Here Erin is with Alexis, Ava and Addison in Andy and Jaime's house in Lincoln.

Ethan got to spend some time with cousin Dayton in Lincoln. They attempted to go fishing but didn't have a lot of luck. The bottom picture is at Grandma Pat's in Stratton. We took Dayton and Kayla to Grandma's house with us and they got to spend a couple of days with grandpa and grandma.

What We Do!

Well this is what we do in Wyoming. Kenny is a general foreman for a company that does construction work out in the gas fields. He is head of the trucks and cranes and not very happy that I posted this picture! He said, "That is not what I do all day!" I'm sure that's true but I thought it was a cool picture with the mountains in the background.

This is a picture of Luke last fall when he finally got to play football. He broke a bone in his hand the week before the first game so he had to miss the first five games. He was so bummed out! When he finally got the cast off the doctor wasn't sure if he should play or not and he just told him it didn't matter if he thought he should play or not he was going to. So he told him how to wrap it up and away he went! I ended up sending this picture to the doctor and he thought is was

pretty cool!

This is Zach playing ball with one of his blocked punts on the season. This was a super sweet shot for him as the kid punting the ball had a little rowel with Zach on the basketball court the year before! As you can tell we play our games on Friday afternoons instead of Friday nights. Quite a bit different. We are lucky enough to get in one game a year under the lights.

Erin loves the sports as well but had a

rough year as an eigth grader. She actually

broke her foot last August at a camp in Colorado but played volleyball on it anyway. When basketball came around she couldn't take the pain any longer so ended up in a cast for the next three months. She's back on the court and went to a volleyball and basketball camp this summer and is very much looking forward to her Freshman year!

Ethan plays all the traditional sports of football, basketball and track but he keeps telling me he LOVES the extreme sports like skiing. He went almost every weekend if he could!

Our House

We've done some work to the house since we've moved in. The house began as a two bedroom cabin and the previous owners added a garage which has an apartment on top and an addition to the cabin which included a kitchen, dining room and family room. When we moved in we decided we wanted more bedrooms in the main area so we put on an addition that included three more bedrooms and two bathrooms. We then went ahead and sided the new addition and the front of the house. Now we're trying to get the garage painted and decide what to do with the logs on the outside. We have most of it done except the trim and some hard to reach places.

This is some of the area scenery. The picture on the left is of Fremont Lake which is about 4 miles up the road. The other lake is Half Moon which is another few miles up the mountain. The bottom picture is of photographers point where we hiked up to last Labor Day. We had a lot of needed moisture this spring so things have looked a little greener than they did the first year we were here!
